Daron Ellis Killed in Tyler Fuel Truck Crash on University Boulevard

Tyler, Texas (May 5, 2022) – A man was killed Wednesday morning in a fuel truck crash in Tyler, according to the police.

The fatal crash happened on May 4, on University Boulevard.

Police said Daron Ellis, 22, of Tyler, was driving an SUV and was following a fuel truck. He attempted to make a lane change and rear-ended the fuel truck, causing his SUV to lose control.

Ellis was ejected from the vehicle and was taken to the hospital, where he later died.

The driver of the fuel truck was uninjured in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
