Diane Darnley Killed, Brad Thomas and Scott Veltman Seriously Injured in Navarro County Three-Vehicle Crash on SH 31 near FM 1129

Navarro County, Texas (March 2, 2022) – One person was killed, and two others were seriously injured on February 18 in a wrong-way crash in Navarro County, according to the authorities.

The fatal crash happened around 4:15 p.m., on State Highway 31, about half a mile east of FM 1129.

Authorities said a silver 2009 Toyota Camry was traveling westbound in the eastbound lane of the highway when it crashed into an eastbound blue 2021 Toyota Rav4 SUV. The crash debris struck the windshield of an eastbound black 2022 Ford F350.

The Camry driver, 59-year-old Diane Darnley, of Kerens, was not wearing her seatbelt and was ejected. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Rav4 driver, 70-year-old Brad Thomas of Trinidad, and the passenger, 49-year-old Scott Veltman of Corsicana, were airlifted to Parkland Hospital in Dallas with incapacitating injuries.

The F350 driver, 20-year-old Harley Plant, of Corsicana, was uninjured in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
