Dr. John Dominguez Killed in Weslaco Two-Vehicle Crash on Business 83 at Garza

Weslaco, Texas (November 9, 2019) – The man who was killed in a two-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon in Weslaco has been identified as 59-year-old Dr. John Dominguez, according to the police.

The deadly crash occurred on Thursday, November 7, at the intersection of Garza and Business 83.

Police said Dr. Dominguez was held at gunpoint in an attempted aggravated robbery and he backed out in a white vehicle in a parking lot.

A black car pulled up, blocking Dominguez from driving forward and a man wearing a blue jacket and red hat got out of the black vehicle on the passenger’s side and pointed a gun at Dominguez’s car.

The suspect then tried to open the door and then started hitting the window before Dominguez drove away.

A while later Dominguez swerved into oncoming traffic and crashed head-on into an SUV.

Dominguez was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two other people were taken to the hospital for treatment.

The suspects left the scene in the newer model black Nissan Versa and the authorities are looking for them. They are considered armed and dangerous.
