Earline Nealie Stroud Killed in Scurry County Crash Involving Drilling Rig on County Road 253

Scurry County, Texas (November 21, 2019) – An 83-year-old Snyder woman was killed Wednesday morning in a traffic collision involving a drilling rig truck in Scurry County, according to the DPS.

The fatal crash happened at about 10:30 a.m. November 20, on County Road 253, west of Snyder.

DPS said Earline Nealie Stroud was driving a 2018 Toyota RAV 4 northbound in the southbound lanes of the highway when she collided with a southbound 1971 Franklin Drilling Rig.

Stroud was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the rig, Israel Tavarez-Hernandez, 61, of Ira, was uninjured in the crash.

An investigation is underway.
