Eric Leal Killed, Devan Lovelace Injured in Hit-and-Run on Mesa at Castellano in El Paso

El Paso, Texas – One person was killed and another was seriously injured Sunday morning in a hit-and-run accident in El Paso, according to the El Paso Police Department.

The fatal crash happened around 1:52 a.m., April 28, in the 4800 block of N Mesa at the 100 block of Castellano.

Police said a 2015 black GMC Sierra was traveling northbound on N. Mesa while a 2018 Silver Dodge Charger was traveling westbound on Castellano. One of the vehicles ran a red light at the intersection, resulting in a collision.

The GMC driver fled the scene after the accident.

The driver of the Dodge, Eric Leal, 23, of El Paso, and the passenger, Devan Michael Lovelace, 26, of El Paso, were taken to the hospital where Leal was pronounced dead.
