Floyd Valdez Struck, Killed by Truck on U.S. 87 in Victoria County

Floyd Valdez Killed in Victoria County Pedestrian Accident on U.S. 87 near Placedo

Victoria County, Texas (January 29, 2021) – A man was hit and killed by a pickup truck Thursday morning in Victoria County, according to a local news source.

The deadly accident happened around 7:00 a.m., January 28, on U.S. 87 South.

DPS said Floyd Valdez, 35, of Victoria, was walking southbound on the highway when he was struck by a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado pickup that was traveling in the southbound outside lane of the highway.

Valdez was pronounced dead at the scene. He was wearing dark clothing at the time of the accident.

The Chevrolet driver, a 26-year-old Port Lavaca man, remained at the scene after the accident.

The troopers are investigating the crash.
