Man Dies in Anderson County Pedestrian Crash on US 79

Anderson County, Texas (January 17, 2019) – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle in Anderson County on Tuesday night, according to the DPS.
The crash happened at about 8 p.m. January 16 on US Highway 79 South, approximately five miles southwest of Palestine.
DPS said a Frankston man was trying to cross the roadway from the south when he was hit by a vehicle traveling northeast on US Highway 79 South.
The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The DPS is investigating the crash.
