Gary Brown Hit, Killed by Train on Polk Street in Livingston

Gary Brown ID’d as Man Killed in Livingston Train Accident on Polk Street

Livingston, Texas (January 18, 2023) – Authorities have identified the man who died after he was struck by a train Thursday afternoon in Livingston as Gary Lee Brown, 56, of Livingston.

The incident was reported at around 4:04 p.m. Thursday, January 12, at the Polk Street railroad crossing.

Witnesses told the authorities that Brown was sitting on the tracks when a train traveling southbound approached.

Brown did not get off the tracks before the train reached him.

Brown was transported sustained incapacitating injuries and was transported to CHI St. Luke’s Hospital. He was then airlifted to a Kingwood hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The Livingston Police Department is investigating the crash.
