Georgia Salas Killed in Houston Pedestrian Accident on Lyons Avenue; Nicolas Martinez Arrested

Houston, Texas – A man was killed on Tuesday in a hit-and-run accident in northeast Houston, according to the Houston Police Department.

The deadly accident occurred around 6:05 p.m., February 6, in the 7200 block of Lyons Avenue.

Police said Georgia Salas, 65, was walking on the sidewalk when she was struck by a Nissan Rogue that was leaving a private parking lot.

Salas was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The Nissan driver, Nicolas Lopez Martinez, 50, fled the scene but was later arrested and charged with failure to render aid. He was booked into the Harris County Jail. Additional charges are possible, pending the outcome of the investigation, which is ongoing.
