Gerardo Bracero Killed in Burnet Two-Vehicle Crash on U.S. 281

Burnet, Texas (August 22, 2020) – A man was killed Tuesday morning in a two-vehicle crash, about 6 miles north of Burnet, according to DPS.

The fatal crash happened at about 11:35 a.m., August 18, on U.S. 281.

DPS said Gerardo Bracero, 41, of Killeen, was driving a 2006 Scion xB southbound on the highway when he skidded into the northbound lane and crashed into an oncoming 2015 Nissan Murano.

Bracero was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger was taken to Ascension Seton Williamson in Round Rock in an unknown condition.

The Nissan driver was treated and released at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
