Harry Betts, Chase Martin Injured in Hit-and-Run Crash on U.S. 81/287 in Wise County

Harry Betts and Chase Martin Injured in Wise County Multi-Vehicle Crash on U.S. 81/287 near County Road 1280
Wise County, Texas (May 10, 2019) – Two people were injured in an alleged hit-and-run accident Thursday morning in Wise County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The crash happened at about 8:30 a.m. May 9, on U.S. 81/287 near County Road 1280 between Alvord and Decatur.
DPS said a 2015 Dodge Charger and a Chevrolet Corvette were heading southbound on the highway when the Charger crashed into a 2010 Chevrolet Avalanche and then into a trailer being towed by a Ford Pickup.
The Charger driver fled the scene after the collision.
The Avalanche driver, Harry Betts, 78, and a passenger, Chase Martin, 33, were taken to a local hospital in unknown condition.
The Ford driver was uninjured in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
