Haven Finkie Killed, Joseph Simmons Injured in Car Crash on US 175 in Henderson County

Haven Finkie Killed and Joseph Simmons Injured in Henderson County Two-Vehicle Crash on US 175 at CR 4511

Henderson County, Texas (August 24, 2023) – One person was killed and another was injured on Monday in a two-vehicle crash in Henderson County, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened on August 21, at the intersection of US 175 and CR 4511, north of Baxter.

DPS said Haven Gabriel Finkie, 22, was driving a Honda Civic southeast on US 175 while Joseph Charles Simmons, 30, of Haslet, was driving a Ford F150 northwest.

Finkie attempted to turn onto CR 4511 and failed to yield to Haslet, resulting in a collision.

Finkie was taken to UT Health in Tyler, where he was pronounced.

Simmons was taken to UT Health in Athens with non-incapacitating injuries.

No other injuries were reported in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
