James Midkiff Killed in Hit-and-Run on Houston Avenue in Houston

James Midkiff Killed in Houston Bicycle Accident on Houston Avenue 

Houston, Texas (December 1, 2023) – The man who died on November 22 after being involved in a hit-and-run accident in Houston has been identified as James Midkiff, 36, according to the police.

The accident happened around 9:10 p.m., November 19, in the 1600 block of Houston Avenue.

Police said Midkiff was riding his bicycle southbound approaching a railway intersection when he was rear-ended by a white sedan.

The driver fled the scene heading southbound on Houston Avenue towards the North Freeway (North Interstate Highway 45).

Midkiff was taken to Memorial Hermann – Texas Medical Center in critical condition where he was pronounced dead on November 22.

The police are investigating the crash. Anyone with any information on the suspect driver or the make of the wanted vehicle is asked to call the HPD Hit and Run Unit at 713-247-4072 or speak anonymously with Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
