James Nyerges ID’d as Pilot Injured in Glasscock County Plane Crash near FM 461

Glasscock County, Texas (January 31, 2020) – The pilot who was injured in a plane crash Wednesday evening in Northwestern Glasscock County has been identified as James Nyerges,76, of Odessa, according to the authorities.

The crash happened around 5:15 p.m., January 29, about 2 miles west of FM 461.

Authorities said Nyerges was flying from Abilene to Odessa when his twin-engine aircraft crashed.

Nyerges, who was the only one on board, was taken to Midland Memorial in stable condition.

The FAA is investigating the crash.
