Jason Cantu, Magdalena Hernandez Killed in Multi-Car Accident on State Highway 46 in Comal County

Jason Cantu, Magdalena Hernandez ID’d as 2 Victims Killed in Comal County Crash on State Highway 46 between Guadalupe State Park and Blanco Road

Comal County, Texas (July 19, 2019) – Authorities have identified the two people who were killed Thursday evening in a multi-vehicle crash in Comal County.

Jason Cantu, 42, and Magdalena Hernandez, 21, died in the wreck that occurred Thursday, July 18 on State Highway 46 between Guadalupe State Park and Blanco Road.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a 2014 Ford F-250 truck was heading eastbound on State Highway 46 when for an undetermined reason, it drifted into the westbound lane and sideswiped a 2015 Chevrolet Camaro and a 2013 Buick Enclave heading westbound.

The F-250 then collided head-on with a 2016 Hyundai Accent, which was rear-ended by 2015 Toyota Camry.

Cantu and Hernandez were pronounced dead at the scene.

A 50-year-old man, who was the driver of the Buick, was transported to University Hospital in stable condition.  All the other victims sustained minor injuries.

The DPS said all the parties involved in the collision were wearing their seat belts.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
