Jay Michael Lohse Killed in Bowie County Two-Vehicle Crash on US-259

Bowie County, Texas (November 27, 2019) – A man was killed early Wednesday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Bowie County north of Dekalb, according to the authorities.

The fatal crash occurred just before 12:45 a.m. on US-259.

DPS said a pickup truck towing a trailer was heading northbound on the highway while Jay Michael Lohse, 35, of Fayetteville, Arkansas, was heading southbound in the wrong lane.

The pickup driver swerved to the left, and Lohse hit the trailer, before leaving the roadway. 

Lohse car then hit several trees.

Lohse was pronounced dead at the scene.

The pickup driver was uninjured in the crash.

An investigation is underway.
