66-Year-Old John David Hernandez Killed in Milam County Bicycle Accident on US 79

Milam County, Texas (April 21, 2020) – A man was killed on Sunday in a bicycle accident in Milam County, west of Rockdale, a local news source reported.

The deadly accident occurred on Sunday, April 19, on US 79.

According to the report, John David Hernandez, 66, of Rockdale, was riding a bicycle westbound in the center turn lane while a Dodge Ram pick-up truck was traveling westbound approaching him.

Hernandez failed to yield the right of way, merged into the path of the Dodge, and he was hit by the truck.

Hernandez was pronounced dead at the scene.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
