Johnathan Lewis Arrested in Fatal Waco Two-Vehicle Crash at 18th Street and Clay Street

Waco, Texas (September 4, 2022) – A man has been arrested following a two-vehicle crash that left one person dead in July in Waco, according to the police.

Johnathan Christian Lewis, 22, of Waco, was arrested on September 2 and charged with Intoxication manslaughter, manslaughter, and intoxication assault.

The fatal crash happened around 2:15 a.m., July 16, at the intersection of 18th Street and Clay Street.

Police said a Dodge Charger was traveling southbound on 18th Street when it struck an eastbound Chevrolet Silverado.

The force of the impact caused the Chevrolet to spin and turn over on its passenger side.

The Chevrolet driver, Edwardo Zamora, 57, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver and passenger in the Dodge were taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Lewis was later arrested and charged. He was being held at the McLennan County Jail.

The police are investigating the crash.
