Jose Mejia Killed in Alton Two-Vehicle Crash at FM 1925 and FM 681
Alton, Texas (July 23, 2021) – According to the authorities, an elderly man was killed Thursday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash north of Alton.
The deadly crash happened around 2:40 p.m., July 22, at the intersection of FM 1925 and FM 681.
Authorities said the man was driving a 2007 Mercury Grand Marquis eastbound on FM 1925 when he failed to yield the right of way at a stop sign and collided with a 2015 Ford F-150.
The Mercury driver, 83-year-old Jose Torres Mejia of Mission, was pronounced dead at the scene. His two passengers were taken to a local hospital for treatment.
The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the crash.
