Jose Ramiro Hinojosa, Erik Michael Reyes and Ruben Arriaga Jr., Injured in  Calhoun County Three-Vehicle Crash at US Hwy 35 and SH 185

Calhoun County, Texas (October 9, 2019) – Three people were injured in a three-vehicle crash Tuesday morning at a Calhoun County intersection, according to a local news source.

The crash happened at about 7:32 a.m., October 8, in the area of US Hwy 35 and State Highway 185.

As per the report, Erik Michael Reyes, 34, of Robstown, was driving a 2020 Dodge Ram with his right passenger Ruben Arriaga Jr., 43, of Corpus Christi, southbound on US Hwy 35 and was attempting to turn left onto State Highway 185.

Jose Ramiro Hinojosa, 28, of Piñatas, was driving a 1999 Ford F-150 northeast on State Highway 35.

A 2017 Chevrolet Pickup driven by Joe D. Davis, 54, of Franklin, was stopped at a red light at the intersection, waiting to turn left.

Reyes failed to yield the right of way to Hinojosa while turning left onto SH 185 and the Ford hit the Dodge.

The Ford continued after the collision heading eastbound and hit the Chevrolet.

Hinojosa was airlifted to Memorial Hermann in Houston with major injuries.

Reyes and Arriaga Jr. were taken to Citizens in Victoria in stable condition.

The crash remains under investigation.
