Joshua B. Jones ID’d as Man Killed in Lubbock Crash on Interstate 20

Lubbock, Texas (August 8, 2019) – The man who was killed Tuesday morning in a traffic accident in Lubbock has been identified as Joshua B. Jones, 29, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The horrific accident took place at about 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 6 on Interstate 20 near mile marker 163.

The DPS said Jones was driving a truck hauling a semi-trailer eastbound on Interstate 20 behind another truck towing a semi-trailer.

As the truck ahead of Jones began to slow down, Jones failed to control its speed and his truck hit the rear of the semi-trailer in front of him.

Jones, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
