Jospeh Stelly Killed in Houston Multi-Vehicle Crash on Tidwell Road at North Wayside

Houston, Texas (May 20, 2021) – According to the police, the 90-year-old man who was injured in a multi-vehicle crash earlier this month in Houston has died.

Jospeh Stelly, 90, succumbed to his injuries on May 17.

The crash happened around 11:15 a.m., May 5, in the 7800 block of Tidwell Road at the intersection of North Wayside.

Police said Stelly was driving a gray Ford Taurus westbound when he failed to control his speed and rear-ended a blue Ford Expedition that was stopped at the intersection.

The force of the impact caused the Expedition to crash into a green Ford Explorer, a blue International 18-wheeler cab, and a black Ford F-150 pickup truck.

Stelly was taken to Ben Taub General Hospital in critical condition and was later transferred to hospice, where he succumbed to his injuries on May 17.

The police are investigating the crash.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

While there are many causes of car accidents, the most common reasons of driver negligence include driver inattention; cell phone use; texting and driving; speeding; fatigue; failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive; running a red light; and driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs,” Attorney Joel A. Gordon said. Mr. Gordon believes that an independent investigation is important. An Attorney will help obtain the crash report, secure accident photos, interview witnesses, and create a claim.
