Cecil O’neal III Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash on McCombs Street in El Paso

Cecil O’neal III ID’d as Man Killed in El Paso Pedestrian Accident on McCombs Street; Christopher Perez Arrested

El Paso, Texas (July 27, 2022) – The man who died in a hit-and-run crash last month in northeast El Paso has been identified as Cecil Blesh O’neal III, 48.

The deadly accident occurred at about 10:00 p.m. on June 18 in the 9500 block of McCombs Street.

O’neal was crossing the street outside a marked crosswalk when a four-door car speeding southbound struck him. The area was dark at the time of the accident, authorities said.

O’neal died in the crash.

The involved driver did not stop to render aid to O’neal and fled the scene. The suspect, now identified as Christopher Perez, 20, was arrested on Monday, July 25.

Perez was charged with an accident causing death. His bail was set at $150,000.

No further details about the crash were given.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
