Juana Alvarez, Lucas Alvarez Killed in Car Crash on State Highway 11 in Fannin County

Juana Alvarez, Lucas Alvarez Killed, Arnulfo Alvarez, and Andres Alvarez Seriously Injured in Fannin County Crash on State Highway 11

Fannin County, Texas (September 3, 2019) – Two people were killed and two others were seriously injured in a traffic collision on Friday in Fannin County, just east of Whitewright, according to a local news source.

The fatal crash took place on Friday, August 30, on State Highway 11.

As per the report, Keagan Cannaday, 20, was driving eastbound at a high rate of speed on the highway, when he entered into the westbound lane and hit a truck towing a trailer loaded with wood.

The truck driver, Arnulfo Alvarez, 39, was taken to McKinney hospital with serious injuries. Andres Alvarez, 3, who was a passenger on the truck, was taken to a Dallas hospital with serious injuries.

Arnulfo’s wife, 25-year-old Juana Alvarez, who was pregnant at the time of the crash, and their son, Lucas, 2, were declared dead at the scene. The unborn child also didn’t survive the crash.

Cannaday was arrested for DUI and was taken to a Plano hospital for treatment.

The crash remains under investigation.
