Justin Fields Killed in Motorcycle Crash at 50th Street and Loop 289 in Lubbock

Justin Fields Killed in East Lubbock Motorcycle Crash at 50th Street and Loop 289

Lubbock, Texas (August 12, 2023) – According to the police, one person died following a motorcycle crash that happened Tuesday afternoon in East Lubbock.

The crash was reported around 12:29 p.m., August 8, at the intersection of East 50th Street and Loop 289.

Police said a motorcycle driven by Justin Fields, 41, was traveling eastbound on 50th Street while an SUV driven by Victoria Soliz, 36, was traveling northbound on the Loop 289 access road. The motorcycle and the SUV collided at the intersection.

Fields and another passenger on the motorcycle, Deloris Halpain, 34, were taken to University Medical Center with serious injuries. Fields died on Thursday, August 10.

Soliz was taken to Covenant Medical Center with moderate injuries. A 16-year-old passenger was taken to Covenant Medical Center with minor injuries.

The police are investigating the crash.
