Kesha Reed Killed, Stephanie Stroud Injured in Lubbock Two-Vehicle Crash on 34th Street

Lubbock, Texas (May 29, 2022) – One person was killed, and another was injured early Saturday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Lubbock, according to the police.

The fatal crash happened around 2:09 a.m., May 28, in the 3500 block of 34th Street.

Police said Kesha Reed, 35, was driving a Chevrolet Equinox eastbound on the street while 38-year-old Stephanie Stroud was also driving a Ford Fusion eastbound in front of the Equinox.

The Equinox then rear-ended the Fusion.

The Fusion came to rest in the westbound lanes of the street while the Equinox traveled into the Caprock Café parking lot and struck a light pole.

Reed was taken to Covenant Medical Center and was later pronounced dead.

Stroud sustained moderate injuries in the crash.

The Lubbock Police Department’s Major Crash Unit is investigating the crash.
