Kristine Florez Killed in Baylor County Two-Vehicle Crash on U.S. 114 and FM 1790

Baylor County, Texas (September 28, 2019) – A woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash Thursday night in Baylor County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The crash took place on Thursday, September 26, in the area of U.S. 114 and FM 1790.

DPS said Kristine Florez, 35, of Vernon, was driving an SUV westbound on Highway 114 approaching the intersection when she missed a turn and was trying to get back northbound.

Florez made an unsafe turn in front of another vehicle, resulting in a collision with another vehicle.

The impact caused the SUV to spin into a southbound ditch.

The driver of the other car, Ronald Hargrove, 25, of Seymour, drove into a northbound ditch and struck a utility pole. Hargrove was able to get out of the car before it caught fire.

Florez was taken to the hospital where she later died.

Hargrove sustained non-life threatening injuries.

An investigation is underway.
