Stephen Hoeller Killed in El Paso Motorcycle Crash on Interstate 10 at Lee Trevino

El Paso, Texas (July 17, 2022) – According to the police, the man who was injured Friday evening in a motorcycle crash in East El Paso has died.

67-year-old Stephen Hoeller, of Horizon City, was pronounced dead Saturday morning, July 16.

The crash occurred at about 5:00 p.m., on July 15, on Interstate 10 eastbound at Lee Trevino Drive.

Police said as traffic became congested on the eastbound lane, a 2018 Dodge Charger came to an abrupt stop and was rear-ended by a 2017 Hyundai Elantra. A 2001 BMW motorcycle rear-ended a 2022 Nissan Rogue. 

Hoeller was thrown from his motorcycle into the next lane, where he was run over by a tractor-trailer. He was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The crash closed the eastbound lanes of I-10 between Yarborough and Zaragoza.

The police are investigating the crash.
