Lane Wireman and Seth Brown Killed in Leon County Two-Vehicle Crash on US 79 and FM 39

Leon County, Texas (November 28, 2023) – Two people were killed Monday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Leon County, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 6:06 a.m., November 27, on US Highway 79 and FM 39.

DPS said a van was turning left onto northbound US 79 and FM 39 when it failed to yield at the stop intersection and was hit by a southbound Peterbilt.

The van driver and two passengers were taken to the hospital with suspected serious injuries. Two other passengers in the van, Lane Wireman, 24, of Greenup, Kentucky, and Seth Brown, 25, of Argillite, Kentucky were pronounced dead at the scene.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
