Luna Reyes Killed in Lubbock County Two-Vehicle Crash on US 84 near Shallowater

Lubbock County, Texas (December 13, 2022) – A woman was killed early Saturday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Lubbock County, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened just after 12:30 a.m., December 10, on US-84, just southeast of Shallowater.

DPS said Luna Reyes, 28, of Plainview, was driving northbound on the highway on a private drive when she failed to yield the right of way to a semi-truck that was traveling eastbound in the right-hand lane.

Reyes was attempting to turn right and the vehicles collided at the intersection.

Reyes was taken to UMC, where she later died.

The semi-truck driver, 43-year-old Jarrod Kitten of Slaton, was uninjured in the crash.

The troopers are investigating the crash.
