Man Critically Injured in Motorcycle Crash on West Avenue in San Antonio

56-Year-Old Man in Critical Condition after San Antonio Motorcycle Accident on West Avenue

San Antonio, Texas (April 24, 2022) – A motorcyclist was critically injured after being hit by a vehicle Saturday night in San Antonio, police said.

The crash was reported at about 10:47 p.m. on April 23 in the 2900 block of West Avenue.

According to the police, a 56-year-old man was riding his motorcycle southbound on West Avenue when, for an unknown reason, he was hit by a Prius that was turning left out of a parking lot onto West Avenue.

The motorcyclist was speeding prior to the collision, authorities said. The rider was thrown off the bike upon the impact. The motorcycle then slammed into a third vehicle that was stopped at the intersection of Venice Street and West Avenue.

The motorcyclist sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.

Further details regarding the crash were not immediately provided.

An investigation is underway.
