Man Critically Injured in Pedestrian Crash on I-35 in Waco

One Critically Injured in Waco Pedestrian Accident on Interstate 35 near Elm Avenue

Waco, Texas (April 5, 2020) – A man was critically injured Friday night in a pedestrian accident in Waco, according to officials.

The accident happened at about 8:10 p.m., April 3, on southbound Interstate 35 near exit 337B, north of Elm Avenue.

Officials said the man was attempting to cross the interstate when he was struck by a car.

The man was taken to a local hospital with serious multiple traumatic injuries, including a near-amputation of his lower left leg. He was listed in critical condition.

The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

Several lanes of traffic were closed following the crash.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
