Worker Injured in Dallas Construction Accident near Stone Canyon Road and Meadow Road

Dallas, Texas (May 2, 2020) – A man was injured Friday afternoon after a ditch he was working on collapsed on him in Dallas, officials said.

The incident happened around 1:00 p.m. May 1, near the intersection of Stone Canyon and Meadow roads.

Officials said the man was doing unspecified work in a 16 feet deep ditch when the walls of the ditch collapsed on his legs, and he was trapped from the waist up.

The man was able to free himself from the dirt, but he couldn’t pull himself out of the ditch.

Responding emergency crews lifted the worker out of the ditch, and he was taken to a local hospital with unknown injuries.

An investigation is underway.
