Man Injured in Kirby Pedestrian Crash on FM 78 at Jaenke Street; Driver Arrested

Kirby, Texas – A man was injured early Wednesday morning after being struck by an alleged intoxicated driver in Kirby, according to the police.

The crash happened around 12:20 a.m., February 7, on FM 78 and Jaenke Street near Gibbs Sprawl Road and Kirby Middle School.

Police said the man was struck by a gold-colored sedan on the highway.

The driver stopped roughly 100 yards away from the scene.

The victim was taken to a local hospital in unknown condition.

The sedan driver was ultimately detained on suspicion of DWI.

The police are investigating the crash.
