Man Killed in Harris County Pedestrian Accident on FM 529

Harris County, Texas (October 10, 2022) – A man was killed Saturday night in a hit-and-run accident in west Harris County, according to deputies.

The deadly accident happened just before 11:00 p.m., October 8, on FM 529 between Highway 6 and Queenston Boulevard.

Deputies said the man was crossing the highway pushing a shopping cart full of personal items when he was struck by a woman who was driving a silver SUV. The woman fled the scene after the accident.

A man was driving a red car when he struck the victim’s shopping cart. He remained at the scene.

The victim was killed in the crash.

The woman drove down to a nearby parking lot and called a family member, who brought her back to the scene. She was arrested and could face felony charges.

Both drivers did not show signs of intoxication.

An investigation is underway.
