Maria Rodriguez ID’d as Woman Killed in Olivarez Multi-Vehicle Crash at FM 88 and Mile 12 N. Road
Olivarez, Texas (February 10, 2019) – The woman who was killed in a three-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon in Olivarez has been identified as Maria Andrea Rodriguez, 55, of Elsa, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The fatal crash took place shortly before 3:00 p.m. February 9, at the intersection of FM 88 and Mile 12 N. Road.
DPS said a blue Chevrolet Trax was stopped at a red light facing southbound on the left turn lane of FM 88 and a white Chevrolet Malibu was behind the blue Chevrolet. A white Ford F-250 was heading northbound on FM 88 when the driver lost control of the vehicle and veered into the left turn lane of southbound FM 88 where it hit the Trax and the Malibu.
Rodriguez was declared dead at the scene.
The drivers of the Malibu and the Ford were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The DPS is investigating the crash.
