Marie Hardin Killed in Anderson County Two-Vehicle Crash on State Highway 19 at US 287

Anderson County, Texas (February 3, 2021) – A woman was killed, and another person was injured in a two-vehicle crash Sunday afternoon in Anderson County, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 4:29 p.m., January 31, at the intersection of SH 19 and US 287.

According to a preliminary investigation, a 2020 Toyota Corolla was traveling southbound on SH 19 while a 2013 Toyota Venza was traveling northbound on SH 19.

The Venza failed to yield the right of way at the intersection and hit the Corolla on its left side.

The Corolla driver, Marie Hardin, 87, of Palestine, was taken to CHRISTUS Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler, where she later died.

The Venza driver, Quincy Beavers Jr., was taken to Palestine Regional Hospital for treatment.

The crash remains under investigation.
