Matthew Leger Struck, Injured by Metro Bus at Bellaire Transit Center in Houston

Matthew Leger ID’d as 1 of 2 Men Seriously Injured in Houston Pedestrian Accident at Bellaire Transit Center on Bellaire Boulevard near South Rice Avenue

Houston, Texas (August 26, 2019) – Two pedestrians were struck and injured by a bus Thursday night in Houston, according to a local news source.

The accident took place at around 11:00 p.m. Thursday, August 22 at the Bellaire Transit Center on Bellaire Boulevard near South Rice Avenue.

As per the report, the driver of a METRO bus lost control and slammed into a column before hitting two pedestrians who were at the stop at the Bellaire Transit Center.

One of the pedestrians, identified as Matthew Leger, 35, was airlifted to Memorial Hermann with serious injuries. The other pedestrian was also taken to the hospital in unknown condition.

There were 35 people on the bus at the time of the accident, and there were no reported injuries for the occupants.

The transit center was shut down as the investigation and cleanup took place.
