Melissa Diaz Killed in Alice Two-Vehicle Crash on State Highway 359

Alice, Texas (June 6, 2021) – A woman was killed in a head-on collision Thursday evening, eight miles north of Alice, according to the DPS.

The fatal crash happened just after 6:30 p.m., June 3, on State Highway 359.

DPS said Melissa Diaz, 39, of Alice, was driving southwest on the highway when an F-150 truck drifted into her lane and crashed head-on into her Jeep.

Diaz was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Ford driver was taken to CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital-Alice with serious injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
