Michael Castillo Killed in Runnels County Two-Vehicle Crash on FM 382 at SH 153

Runnels County, Texas (July 31, 2023) – A man was killed in a two-vehicle crash Saturday night, 10.8 miles east of Winters, according to the authorities.

The fatal crash happened around 9:30 p.m., July 29, at the intersection of FM 382 and SH 153.

Authorities said a Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling southbound on FM 382 approaching the intersection when it disregarded the stop sign and hit a Hyundai that was traveling westbound on SH 153.

The Hyundai driver, 42-year-old Michael Castillo, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Tahoe driver was taken to Shannon Medical Center with incapacitating injuries. 

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
