Miranda Lili and Rigoberto Villalobos Injured in Fatal Culberson County Semi-Truck Crash on Interstate 10

Culberson County, Texas (June 2, 2021) – Two people were killed, and two others were injured on Sunday in a three-vehicle crash in Culberson County, according to the authorities.

The fatal crash happened on May 30, on Interstate 10, 10 miles east of Van Horn.

Authorities said a Honda CR-V driven by Miranda Lili, 53, of San Antonio, was traveling eastbound in the right-hand lane of the interstate when Lili lost control due to the heavy rain, and the Honda spun on the roadway before coming to a stop in the traffic lanes.

Bradley Dean Johnson, 53, of Tucson, was driving a semi-truck that was towing another vehicle, and he crashed into the Honda. The semi-truck continued onto the shoulder and rolled over.

Another semi-truck which was also towing a vehicle, crashed into Johnson’s semi-truck, causing a fire.

The driver of the second semi-truck, Rigoberto Villalobos, 50, of San Antonio, was able to exit the vehicle, but Johnson was unable to get out and died in the blaze.

Lili, Villalobos, and Viviana Carillo, 33, of Austin, who was a passenger in the Honda, were taken to Culberson Hospital in Van Horn, where Carrillo later died.

Villalobos had serious, incapacitating injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.

“When a person has suffered a grave personal injury in an accident due to someone else’s negligence, the most overwhelming emotion they feel is a sense of injustice. They often ask how such a life-altering event could have happened to them,” attorney Joel A. Gordon said. “The next question usually is, who can help me?” Mr. Gordon added.

A legal advocate can represent an injury victim or the family of a deceased victim. The attorney will file a claim on behalf of the victim and will have the responsibility of citing existing codes, laws, or statutes which were violated.
