Motorcyclist Critically Injured in Crash with Pickup Truck on Highway 96 in Kirbyville

Rider Airlifted after Kirbyville Motorcycle Accident on Highway 96

Jasper County, Texas (May 20, 2022) – A motorcyclist was critically injured in a crash with a pickup truck near Kirbyville in Jasper County on Friday morning, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The collision occurred at around 10:30 a.m. on Highway 96, about 3 miles north of Kirbyville.

DPS said the motorcyclist slammed into the back passenger side door of an extended cab Ford F-150 pickup truck on the highway.

The motorcycle rider was airlifted to a hospital in critical condition. The name of the patient was not immediately available.

No further details about the collision were immediately provided.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
