Motorcyclist Killed in Canyon Crash on Interstate 27 at 4th Avenue

Canyon, Texas (July 18, 2022) – A motorcyclist was killed in a head-on collision with a car on Monday morning in Canyon, according to the Canyon Police Department.

The deadly crash happened at around 7:20 a.m. on Interstate 27 service road at 4th Avenue.

Police said the motorcycle was traveling southbound on the access road when the driver failed to yield right of way and collided head-on with a northbound blue Ford Mustang that was trying to get on the Interstate 27 entrance ramp at 4th Avenue.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The name of the rider has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

Police temporarily closed the Interstate 27 northbound service road at 4th Avenue.

Further details regarding the crash were not immediately provided.

An investigation is underway.
