Officer Injured in Houston Two-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 10 at Antoine

Houston, Texas (February 15, 2022) – An HPD officer was injured Monday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Houston, according to the authorities.

The crash happened on February 14, at the intersection of the Katy Freeway feeder road westbound and Antoine.

Authorities said the officer was driving an HPD unit northbound after he clocked a speeding car and planned to stop that driver.

The officer had his lights on, and the sirens activated when his unit was struck by another vehicle. The westbound traffic had a green light at the time of the crash.

The officer was taken to the hospital with a knee injury.

The other driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigators. They were uninjured in the crash.

An investigation is underway.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

There are many different reasons why automobile, 18-wheeler, and motorcycle accidents occur, including driver negligence, driver inattention, texting and driving, speeding, fatigue, failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive, running a red light, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. While the factors listed above are the main causes of most accidents, there may also be other factors involved, which is why it’s important that an investigation be conducted before evidence disappears, especially in cases involving a fatality.  At Joel A. Gordon & Associates we will act quickly to secure accident scene photos, interview witnesses, obtain police records, and secure other valuable evidence needed to win your case.  Call now for a free consultation
