Officer Injured in Crash on I-35 in Belton

Officer Hospitalized after Belton Crash on Interstate 35

Belton, Texas (February 12, 2020) – A Belton police officer was injured Wednesday morning in a traffic crash in Belton, according to a local news source.

The crash happened around 6:30 a.m. in the 1600 block of N Interstate 35.

According to the report, the officer was working a crash with his patrol car blocking a lane of traffic as the crash was being cleared from the road.

The officer was inside the patrol car, which was parked with its emergency lights on, when a vehicle tried to drive between the patrol car and a semi-truck, resulting in a collision.

The officer was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
