Victoria Police Department Officer Injured in Victoria Car Crash at Rio Grande Street and Navarro Street
Victoria, Texas (July 12, 2022) – An officer with Victoria Police Department was injured in a traffic accident in Victoria Tuesday morning, according to authorities.
The crash happened at about 7:36 a.m. in the area of Rio Grande Street and Navarro Street.
Police said the officer was responding to a call about an elderly woman with known mental issues.
The officer stopped traffic at the intersection of Rio Grande Street and Navarro Street and helped the elderly woman safely cross Rio Grande Street.
When the officer was getting back into her patrol vehicle to drive eastbound on Rio Grande Street, she was T-boned by another car.
The officer, whose name was not immediately available, sustained a minor injury to her right arm and is expected to be okay. The driver of the civilian car did suffer any injuries.
The two vehicles were towed from the crash site.
Further details regarding the collision were immediately provided.
The accident remains under investigation.
