Woman Killed in Jefferson County Pedestrian Accident on Highway 69 near Jefferson County Jail

Jefferson County, Texas (November 15, 2019) – An Orange County woman was killed in a pedestrian accident on Thursday evening near the Jefferson County Jail, according to the DPS.

The deadly accident happened around 7:00 p.m. on Highway 69 southbound near FM 3514.

DPS said the woman was driving a Nissan pickup truck southbound on the highway when she ran out of gas in the right lane of the highway.

The woman exited the vehicle and attempted to flag down motorists and as she stood in the roadway, she was hit by a Ford F-150 pickup truck.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name has not been disclosed.

The passenger in the Nissan was uninjured.

The Ford driver, a 27-year-old Orange County man, was uninjured in the crash.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
