Oscar Ysassi Killed in Cuero Two-Vehicle Crash on U.S. 87

Cuero, Texas (May 26, 2021) – According to the DPS, one person was killed in a two-vehicle crash Friday evening, one mile south of Cuero.

The fatal crash happened around 6:45 p.m., on May 21, on U.S. Highway 87.

DPS said Oscar Ysassi, 54, of San Marcos, was driving a 2012 Chevrolet Equinox northbound on the highway when he crossed three lanes of traffic and crashed into a southbound 2006 Dodge Ram pickup towing a utility trailer.

Ysassi was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Dodge driver, Frank Stavena, 27, of Stockdale, was uninjured in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
