Pedestrian Struck, Killed by Off-Duty Officer on LBJ Freeway Service Road in North Dallas

One Killed in North Dallas Pedestrian Accident on Lyndon B. Johnson Freeway Service Road

Dallas, Texas (July 20, 2020) – A pedestrian was fatally hit by an off-duty Dallas police officer Sunday night in North Dallas, according to officials.

The deadly accident happened at about 10:00 p.m. July 19, in the 8100 block of Lyndon B. Johnson Freeway Service Road.

Police said the officer was driving his personal vehicle westbound on the service road when he struck a pedestrian who stepped into the street in front of his vehicle.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. Their identity has not been released.

The officer, who was on his way home at the time of the crash, was uninjured in the crash.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
