Pedestrian Struck, Killed by Vehicle on McHard Road in Houston

72-Year-Old Man Killed in Houston Pedestrian Accident on McHard Road near Sam Houston Tollway

Houston, Texas (July 19, 2019) – An elderly man was struck and killed by a vehicle late Thursday night in southeast Houston, north of the Pearland area, according to police.

The fatal pedestrian accident took place at around 9:35 p.m. Thursday, July 18 in the 3500 block of McHard Road, southeast of the Sam Houston Tollway and Texas 35.

Police said the 72-year-old man was walking southbound across the McHard Road outside of a crosswalk when he was hit by a vehicle that was traveling eastbound.

The man, who has not been identified pending family notification, died in the crash.

The driver of the vehicle involved did not stop to render aid to the victim and fled the scene.
